The Glock 23 is designed with compact dimensions suitable for both open and concealed carry, while maintaining a lightweight profile despite its impressive magazine capacity. The Gen5 model features a flared magazine well with a larger funnel for easier reloading, along with the Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) that incorporates more aggressive polygonal rifling, a target-style crown, and tighter chamber specifications. Ambidextrous slide stop levers enhance ergonomics for left-handed users and those shooting with their support hand. The design eliminates finger grooves and incorporates the Safe Action System, which ensures that safeties disengage sequentially as the trigger is pulled and automatically re-engage upon release. Additionally, the enlarged floor plate facilitates easier magazine removal, and the customizable frame size includes backstraps in two sizes with a beavertail for a better fit.

The adjustable backstrap frame allows users to modify the grip circumference to accommodate their individual hand sizes. The Modular Optics System (MOS) features a slide that is precisely machined to support the mounting of popular optic sights.
