The 940 Pro model is designed to be optic-ready, featuring receiver cuts that facilitate the low-profile direct mounting of Shield RMSc-pattern micro dot sights, enhancing eye alignment and target acquisition. A cover plate is provided for use when an optic is not mounted.

Internally, the firearm is equipped with a robust gas system that permits up to 1500 rounds between cleanings, along with a variety of corrosion-resistant components and finishes, including a nickel boron-coated gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear. Additionally, it boasts an enlarged and beveled loading port, an elongated elevator, and an anodized follower to ensure smooth operation.

Externally, the adjustable length of pull (LOP) and comb provide 1.75 inches of flexibility. The stock and streamlined forend are designed with Mossberg’s signature texturing for a secure grip. Furthermore, a barrel clamp offers accessory versatility through M-LOK mounting slots, while a front fiber optic sight aids in maintaining target alignment.
