The Glock 44 features a cutting-edge design with a hybrid steel-polymer slide, specifically chambered for .22 caliber rounds, which ensures a lightweight structure and minimal recoil for enhanced control.

The Gen5 model includes a flared magazine well that provides a larger funnel for easier reloading; the Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) incorporates more pronounced polygonal rifling along with a target-style crown and tighter chamber specifications. Additionally, ambidextrous slide stop levers enhance ergonomics for left-handed users and those shooting with their support hand. The design eliminates finger grooves and incorporates the Safe Action System, where the safeties disengage in sequence as the trigger is pulled and automatically re-engage upon release. Furthermore, the enlarged floor plate facilitates easier magazine removal, and the customizable frame size is achieved through backstraps available in two sizes, complete with a beavertail.
